"What doesn't kill you makes you" - Epictetus

Have heard of this guy called Hans Zimmer? I read about him somewhere and I knew I should share about him.
Once he met with an accident and he lost his left hand. When people usually feel let down and depressed he choose to take it well and started working. He used to tell people that forunately I have my right hand and it is amazing I can do so many things with just my right hand".
Despite this suffering he learnt how to fly an airplane. And in less than an year since he started flying with just one hand, during one the times his plane flying over the mountains crashed the engine was damanged and was malfunctioning.
He was paralyzed from Head to Toe. That din't deter him and he kept saying there is a purpose and let me see what all I can do for this world. He never behaved as though he was not capable of doing anything lived like there was a long way to go. True to say he had a long way to go, as he had many surprises in store. He met the lady of his life and got wedded to her in one of the conferences for the physically challenged.
And he went on to invent a system of digital writing that was able to recognize human voice. And he wrote a book on using these systems that were sold in millions.
He said "Before becoming paralyzed he was able to do a million things and now he can do 990,000 things. And people who are intelligent focus on how better they can do the things they can do rather than worry about what they cannot do"
We are gifted. So lets put our best and lead a life of excellence.

Oppurtunities..
Praveen Sherman
4/12/2006 01:43:00 AM
Are you one of those people who say "Let me wait and look around for oppurtunites". If yes there is a possiblity that you will end up waiting forever. I understand that people whom you see as powerful and successful are the ones who do not look out for oppurtunities but they create powerful oppurtunities for themselves.
Every single stone that you see could turn into an oppurtunity and if you were going to look around then there is a possiblity that you are not aware of what you miss and what you grab. It is always a better to be proactive and take control of the situation around rather than wait for things to happen.
We make the choice to achieve our results and if we stay passive then we don't get to reach our desired results. We being to have other control on our destiny. For being effective and triumphant be proactive and take charge and total control of life.

Amazing Lance...

I was reading about this person by name Lance Armstrong. I am sure that many of you would have heard about him. Right, the champion in Cycling. He holds the record for the maximum number of titles for cycling especially the Tour-De-France. That is the most prestigious title for cycling.
As a young boy of 13, he was sure of what he wanted and with able support from his mother he decided to get into the professional cycling and was part of the US Olympic Team.
And as he stepped on to the shoes of being a professional, he was winning all major titles and was in totaly glory. And he topped the rankings and was No. 1 cyclist in the world.
and gloom struck one day when he was diagonised for Cancer. Testicular Cancer has sought plight and his lungs and brain were infected with cancer. When doctors gave him a 50-50 chance of surviving he wanted to live and decided to get back to cycling and he went on for chemotherapy. Guess what he was fully cured. Amazing belief he had that he could do it. When cancer made him physically and emotionally down, he went on to say "Good this happened for a purpose... becuase so far I was neglecting my contribution towards the cancer community". Saying so he started the Lance Armstrong Foundation to help others struggling from Cancer.
Lance then decided to make a comback and went on to race and in his first race half way down the track he decided to give up as he could not move on. And the whole world thought that that was his end. He remarked that he was not ready for racing yet. And he went to a secluded place to maintain his composure and began his training. His practise paid rewards for him and he won the race after a powerful comback. And he set a goal for himself to win the Tour-De-france.
And as he won, it was a victory for him and also more importantly for the cancer survivours. Later he won six more Tour-De-France titles and that was a Symbol of Hope and Inspiration.
He had a purpose in life and we all have a similar purpose in life. Understand and live your purpose.

Planning Pays off

It is always good to plan before you take any step. Sometimes we plan a vacation, plan a trip, plan a meeting, plan a movie with friends and there are times it is sad to say that we dont plan our life.
I have seen that people who do not plan life defintely struggle in life and find things tougher. In fact life is more important than a movie or a vacation. And if we don't take time to plan the life we can't later brood that things did not work out.
Assume that you want to go out for a movie with friends, how would it be without proper planning. Like not buying your tickets, not informing your friends, not making arrangements for refreshments etc. would that be total chaos. I bet it will be.
Planning your life is Crucial to Success
Planning will help to lead a life of excellence
Planning will make you have all the fun
Planning will get the things you want to achieve in life
Planning does get you happiness and satisfaction
And whatever else you want in life ask for yourself how do you want to get it and that becomes your plan for the life.
Begin today...
Plan your & Plan Success

Be at your Best
Praveen Sherman
4/04/2006 10:08:00 PM
Is it important for us to be at the BEST all the times. We all set out our goals and targets and when take action are we being at the best.
Lets face it. Most of the times we take our step forward but still not put our best into it.
If you forced yourself to perform the best you definetely get the best out of it. By being at your best you attract the best people, best choices, best circumstances, best performances from people around you and so on.
Because as you are at your best you begin to exude a postive energy and that draws the best people and the best energy around you. You don't get caught up with what people think of you but start of focussing on the possible outcomes.
Only way to be at your best is to respect who you are and believe who you are. This is when you are true to yourself and be at the best, not answering to people around you. You begin to do things for yourself and not for others.
So start to focus on what you like about yourself and push yourself all the time to be at the BEST

Praveen Sherman
4/03/2006 01:02:00 AM
Before any presentation, before any sales, before negotiation, before any athlete begins his run up there is one important step which everyone must take. It is this step that determines the exact outcomes defined. This is the key to measure success.
What is this key step towards success. I am sure by know you all know that this is
PREPARATION.
After conducting several program I also understood that you keep doing the same thing again and again and inspite still spend some time on preparations your outcomes would be atleast delta more than what you would get without specific preprations.
Being ready is not a sin. Few people do say this "I have done this so many times and I don't need any prepration". I do presentations everyday and if you ask me really I dont need to spend time on prepration. However I do. If not spend as much time as I do the 1st time I do but atleast a few moments which make things more clearer and outcomes better.
Imagine having all the challenges from the other side, cleared much in advance. This is defintely possible. So start your preparation today and be more and more effective.
