I head a lot of people say "I don't like to lead a materialistic life". "You know he does not want anything and he just loves doing it". Very true there are people who just do what they do and what is that they get out of it??
Satisfaction, Peace, Happiness, Sense of achievement, Feeling of Pride etc.. etc.. and what are all these?
These are nothing but "Values" that drive us everyday. (Born to Win graduates can understand what I am writing). Values are those feelings that we always go towards and for that reason we tend to make all our decisions.
If someone helps people and does not expect anything then what is it that he is getting? Satisfaction? Lets say for example. and say if you help someone and expect something from them, what that get for you? could be satisfaction?
Understand, when you say you want more money or money materials ask yourself why? then you get the answer. Could be
- Achievement of making more
- Security
- Comfort in life
- Joy of getting everything
- Peace of mind that you can take care of everything
and so on and on. and so if someone is materialistic understand what that gets for them. Then I sure you will not give a different unuseful interpretation to that word.
