Fuzzy Fantasies

Praveen Sherman
When I was writing this I was wondering of all the fantasies that I have. Fantasies of different genre. Fly high!! I have always dreamt of having the ability to fly. I used to have dreams of me able to fly beating the traffic snarls.

Fantasy of being able swim along with the nice huge fishes. I remember couple of years back, I went into the sea in a small ridge boat (that’s the pointed boat) and as I went into the sea, in the middle I tied myself up with a rope and decided to get down and amidst all the screams from my friends still did that and I was an amazing feeling. I later went on to learn swimming and then I am still yet to relive my fantasy

My fantasy of being in the highest point of Himalayas. Surrounded all over by snow and in peace and bliss me being all by myself. Just imagine how it would be. I am sometimes green with what Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay did. Wonderful right!

I wish that I could have those nice clouds in my hand and feel the chill and coolness in my hands. That’s like being in cloud nine.

To sit along with 2 of the best musicians I like and go the unplugged way “Ilayaraja & SPB”.

Stand on top of earth and decide which side the earth should spin ;) (that was a little naughty I guess)

Take a bucket of paint and paint faces of all the people whom I see Red. (now I don’t know what you want to call that)

Jump from building to building like our Spiderman ( hehehe…

& many many more…

Watch out for more….

Snake and Ladder

Praveen Sherman
Last couple of weeks after me getting quite a bit of travel and stuff, was not able to spend time with my nephew and to make up for it, decided to cajole him with some nice gift. So, I got him a game of Snake and Ladder. Least did I know the tremendous benefits that this little game of coins and token could do to the mindset of children. I could see the overwhelming cheers and smile on his face the moment I gave him this game. And so we decided to give it a shot immediately sitting on his bed, with some snacks (junk junk but little fine for him..) and took out the board, token and the dice. As we started playing Tejas (my nephew) started casting the dice and he started counting step by step and as he was doing so I could see him hungry for the ladder. Man, that was amazing!!!. At this young age hunger to reach higher and higher. It was but a reflection of life and how life would be. Many a time he did managed to get LUCKY (that’s what my sister kept saying..) and would get a ladder and keep moving higher and higher, whereas I was moving step by step, one at a time, with no ladders coming my way. And the more he cast the die, the more LUCKIER he got and kept getting his ladders to reach higher and higher. I was just reflecting on what was happening and then realized this interesting fact, “In life what you expect is what will happen. The Pygmalion Effect”. Tejas all the time wanted the ladder and he kept getting it while all I was doing was just seeing how he was going up the ladder. Isn’t this what happens in LIFE too? Other’s around us all the time expecting to win and going strong, that we tend to just see them winning. Ironical but true. And I am sure you are wondering what was happening when he was coming down the snake.. haha.. he was feeling miserable and sad about coming down the snake. He was wondering 'why me?'. I don’t want to come down the snake. That’s when I asked him, “Do you want to give up and stop the game”. He said “NO!! Now you see I’ll get 6 every time and win” (6 as in the 6 in the dice as he was casting). Interestingly after that each time he cast the die he wanted 6, because that would get him another chance so that he can win faster. But he did not get 6 for a long time. He was feeling down for sometime but never gave up, kept consistently casting the die and when he got his 6, was screaming with joy. But in the process what happened was he did not get any ladder. Reinforcing The Pygmalion Effect. And finally when he won, he felt really happy that he went around telling everyone. He was in ultimate delight, pleasure, happiness. Name it he had it. My salutes to the person who invented this amazing game, inculcating Life’s Success Principles to all the kids at this young age. Thanks to Tejas I really understood what this game can do. And how life is. “There are no failures, Only Feedback” “Past =/= Future” “If I can't then I MUST” “The greatest failure in life is not participating 100%” “Choices have Consequences” And many many more….. Play life like a GAME. Live with Passion

Thank you Graham Bell

Praveen Sherman
It has been more than 10 days since I had a chat with my people at home and my friends. I was really missing them especially my dear ones. My little nephew, my folks, my doo and all. While I was in the midst of work, a black coloured box ringing to the tune of, “The taste that gets you starting now, the taste that gets you going now”. (For people who are not aware, this is the Nescafe Advertisement tune). That is the ring tone for my favourite ones. I couldn’t believe myself that this little black box called the Telephone could get me back to where I was. I was in ultimate bliss. I picked up and that cute one comforted me the most, the way he vibrates the beautiful music from the other end and makes it pass through the ears so gently like that soft breeze is but a lovely feeling. He just takes you through happiness, sadness, guilt, pleasure, joy, sorrow and ‘et.al. As he takes us through the variety of emotions, he gives us the delight and harmony, experiencing ecstasy taking us to heaven. He does provide us the entertainment when needed and also the pleasure of making people the near and dear ones really near to you. However far you may be, he can help you get nearer to the person. As we feel and touch those nice keys and strike through those buttons, it’s a sensation and felling that just can’t be explained. As he facilitates us to hear that voice from the other side we do sometimes ignore what the telephone can do for us. Inviting people and make people anxious is his job. He is but an addiction and just can’t stop from laying the hands on him. And most of the times he is naughty too that he invites the wrong people and makes them pick up too. So sad sometimes. ( As this amazing lively creature, small and big, cute and nice, red and white, soft and loud gives us life; do we treat him the way he has to be? Brutal to him, banging him down, twisting and turning, dropping him many a times and let him down, pulling and pushing, throwing and catching. Does he cry? He does with small hissings and murmur. And we beat him up more again. Don’t take care when he says please take care of me and when he cries. When he is supposed to live longer, we treat him so badly and give him a scare and as he continues to cry, he is dumped into the ditch. Sad he feels and gets old and rotten and feels so famished, ignored and never bringing him back to life. And one fine day, as we realize that we feel Oh! My god, how I wish I had him to make my life even brighter and fresher. It is but too late All I have to say is “Thanks Graham Bell. I will take care of your little child.”

The train journey

Praveen Sherman
Last couple of weeks I have been having quite some fun on Saturdays especially since I take the train journey. I love train journeys. As the siren horns, the train starts of gently and wades through the rail tracks. Moving smoothly, the train passes through those nice green luscious fields and the rocky mountains, sure of knowing where it is heading. Whenever I am on a train journey, I am reminded of the rhyme, “Piggy on the railway picking up stones..” If you haven’t heard of this before ask the cute little ones you know and they’ll tell you. What really fascinates me is the fact that the train precisely knows where it is heading. Many a times the track divulges into 2 different tracks and always has the choice to take any. But knowing its destination it chooses the right path and reaches the target bang. Be it on time or not it still reaches. Does the train really have a smooth journey, not really. I remember 2 weeks back as I was traveling from Bangalore to Chennai, the train was diverted because of a breach in one of the track lines. The train did not give up and changed its route and ensured that it reached the destination., making a few hundreds happy, relieved and satisfied. Isn’t this a metaphor for life as well?? As we travel through in life isn’t it a must that we have a target for ourselves. A GOAL that will decide the route and the path we must take. Unless and until we know this, there is a possibility that we can take any train and not head anywhere and as we reach there realize that that’s not what we wanted and come back the journey. Wasting time and energy!. As we go through like the train is there a guarantee that we’ll have a smooth journey?. I bet that we will have hiccups that will stop us from traveling. But its about changing our ways to reach the target. Its about changing our STRATEGY and still ensuring that we reach our goals. Traveling life is fun, and on the way we might find certain places where there would be more than 1 path. We need to make the decision, the CHOICE, as to which path do I take. That would decide our destiny. And we make the choice and we have all the necessary resources to DESIGN our DESTINY. Know where you want to go and take your ACTION towards SUCCESS. Live with Passion

By the Sea Shore

Praveen Sherman
The Tsunami might have swept through thousands of lives and lakhs of homes and millions of hearts but the sea never is quiet and never likes to be calm and rest. A place of fun, happiness, joy and peace turned to be a violent terror. But as I was in the sea shore I saw the energy and enthusiasm of many. Memories are short lived. But I like the way people reframe it. Wow it all lost forgotten. I love the people. Its always amazing to sit through the beach and enjoy the breeze and the cool wind bustling. As I see the young little ones flying their kites and playing with their balloons and the older ones (by age) resting and having a nice smiling talk, give more energy and nice calmness in the mind. The sand adds beauty to the shore wet and dry, making nice sand dunes and the kids building their small hills making the rat holes and shaking their hands. That’s cute right we were also doing that as kids. The real old smart grandpas and grandmas having a stroll giving them more strength. Isn’t this happiness, joy and fun just a state of mind. I always used to wonder do I need to go to the beach and have fun and have some peace and calmness. I still go there for the same. But I did manage to remember that it is just a STATE of MIND. Like Dr. Richard Bandler (Founder of NLP, my Guru) always says “You don’t need to a reason to be Happy”, we truly don’t need to be there at the Beach to remember and tell ourselves to be happy, calm and peaceful. STATE of MIND!! How important is it to control the same. Each time I go to the beach I do remember one of the most startling and shocking things that happened on Dec 26th 2004, when I lost my cousin. But I don’t make that affect me anymore. I do feel for her for a minute. Its about “What and How we FOCUS on Things” Changing the Internal Representation really makes the impact on me and I do it everyday. Now do I need a reason to be happy or motivated. People ask me how do I get on stage and just be in the state of fun, totally motivated and confident. Don’t I have any challenges ?? (I don’t see them as a P-R-O-B-L-E-M-S). I just decide to focus on what I want and just go by it. Amazing ain’t. Who was with me at the BEACH? Now that’s being naughty… Read more and see more of this blog. I might probably share that as well!!

Sunday morning - The Light Blue Sky

Praveen Sherman
After a long time I managed to set my eyes on the beautiful light blue sky. And I got up in the morning with a surprise. The surprise was not that I got up in the morning; it is just that I saw that silhouette of the beautiful green coconut tree by my window swaying to the nice cool breeze and I pushed the curtain out the breeze just swept through. The previous night as I was catching a glimpse of the highlights of the 6-1 series win of India, I saw a scroll that said, “Heavy rain expected for the next 36 Hrs”. I was like “Oh! No not again”. Last week lots of training programs were cancelled which really got me bored. “I choose to get bored” but I did an E+R=O and then managed to read through all the pending books.

Many a people were complaining about the rain. And amidst all this the commotion and the confusion that the government had to undergo was so much, that really made life a little frustrating for many. Newspapers, TV channels and the print media exposing different things, in the process going against many. I was really wondering was it really so bad? Are there people who really enjoy. Not to mention the ones who really enjoy are the kids. They really wait and they get up early in the morning only on those days when it is raining just to find out that it’s raining and the school is closed. Can’t really explain the joy and the happiness. What a sight to see.

I am sure that this rate of rains lashing through was definitely helpful for our public works department considering the fact that they don’t have to really scout around for water to store and not to forget the farmers. They really would happy with all their wells full and brimming with water.

This is what I call as FRAME of REFERENCE. The same experience perceived in 2 different ways by 2 different set of people. Now who has the choice? Don’t we? I am sure we do and this is what, will ensure that we don’t live life like a sheep but like an eagle swooping away success and glory.

Choose the BEST for yourself. Never Comprise and Live like a Champion for one single reason that we are Born to WIN

How I wish I had the Magic Lamp!!

Praveen Sherman
What a lucky guy Aladdin must have been having a Magic lamp and getting whatever he wanted. Can you just imagine? Awesome right. He calls the Genie and says Jeem Boom Bah and yo he gets a palace, food and money and all that.

I overheard a few kids near my house and was listening what they were talking. I am quite keen on hearing kids talk especially since I love understanding behavioral patterns of kids. They were so intense in their conversation saying I’ll ask for a house by the sea shore and then ask for the Ferrari and so on. How true that sometime we also think in same lines that we would also want to have the magic lamp.

I was really wondering as fables are written there must be some moral and some meaning to it and that’s the reason that children can learn and that it can’t go without the powerful message.

Many a people tend to forget the fact that we all have the magic lamp. We forget the fact that we need to rub and push the lamp to get the genie and get the best. Do we have the resources yes definitely yes and what’s the way I find the magic to take it out. As we realize that we are Born to WIN and that we all have a purpose and reason out here in this world we really go out to achieve what we want. We live our dreams and the dreams come to reality.

Its about breaking the chains of the cave, the chains of human life, limiting beliefs that will bring out the genie in us and this genie (the hero of Aladdin and the Magic Lamp) has the potential, capability, endurance, voice, vigour and the energy to live life like a champion. As always, we are Born to WIN.

And imagine using NLP you say “Close your eyes” and yo !! you get what you want. Want to learn more of it… keep checking out here. For my next blog on applications of NLP…Want more learn more and live with Passion

Delhi Blasts..........?????

Praveen Sherman
Delhi Blasts..........?????
This cynical act of terrorism is but not acceptable. Why we?? Why people??

As a few people pointed out in a few of the newspapers written, why do common men have to suffer the deeds of these undaunted filthy men who call themselves as terror and drive the entire country crazy.

Diwali is supposedly the victory of Lord Vishnu over Narakasura? Who is narakasura and where is Vishnu? When the whole nation was supposed to be in joy and bliss enjoying the lighter moments of Diwali with mouth watering delicious crunchies and munchies there we are doing our best healing severely wounded??

Who can bandage the wound of sorrow and severe loss??

Andhra Pradesh saw the dread of a disaster just out of neglecting. Not even knowing the fact that there was no track in that way how could a train move there??

Where is the VALUE for HUMAN LIFE???
Are we doing something about it?

This Diwali let us wish all people the best to come and pray almighty for the souls to rest in peace?

NLP, Neuro Linguistic Programming

Praveen Sherman
I really wonder how powerful and useful NLP has been to take charge of myself and make permanent changes in myself. With sitting in front of the computer for hours together and talking in an accented way to a few people across the shore made me wonder if I really wanted to do so. And Vidya told me about the power of NLP. I decided to give it a shot and all that has NLP has done for me is nothing but new changes for myself.

I was really intrigued by the way NLP helped me and I started using the same in brining about changes in people. Today doing what I really love the most, Training in my world of empowerment is dream come true.

Touting the hat of a public speaker at the age of 8, was really a stepping stone for me to don the hat of a trainer. NLP made it possible more by giving me the strategies to model top class speakers across the globe. I did get a chance to meet few of the best trainers in Asia when I did my advanced NLP training at Singapore. I created my own style, and then get some really awesome videos of Tony (Anthony Robbins) and Bandler (Richard Bandler). Bandler is a cool guy and is really humrous with his big belly standing out and the suspenders helping him to hold on to his trousers. I am looking forward for his training program due next year for me.

I decided to frame the best program based on NLP and we (Vidya and me) did and came out with the # 1, NLP training program in the country. Born to WIN.

More about this and the rest coming up soon…. Keep track of my Borough.
